It was being incorporated as Music Broadcast Private Limited as of November 4, 1999, at Kolkata as a private limited company under the Companies Act, 1956. It was also converted into a public limited company according to an approval of the shareholders during a general meeting being held on June 15, 2015 and moreover, the company name was changed to Music Broadcast Limited and a fresh certificate of incorporation consequent upon the conversion to public limited company was being issued by the Registrar of Companies, Mumbai as of June 25, 2015. The company name changes were being undertaken upon conversion of the company from a private limited company to a public limited company.

Some of the Milestones:

• 2001: It won the licenses for FM broadcasting in the cities under FM Policy Phase I.
• 2005: Also, IVF Trustee Company invests in the Company and attains a majority shareholding.
• 2006: It also won the licenses for FM broadcasting in 16 cities under FM Policy Phase II.
• 2010: It also launched a web radio in India.
• 2014: Also, JPL invested in the Company via Spectrum.
• 2015:
• Also, the issue of Listed NCDs and listing on BSE.
• It received a 'CRISIL AA/Stable’ rating of Listed NCDs by CRISIL Limited.
• 2016:
• It won licenses for FM broadcasting in 11 cities under FM Policy Phase III.
• Also, the re-affirmation of ‘CRISIL AA/Stable’ rating of Listed NCDs by CRISIL Limited.
• Also, the radio division of Shri Puran Multimedia Limited was transferred to the company according to the Scheme of Arrangement.

• It received the Golden Mikes - The Most unique programming concept/idea.
• 2016:
• The Best Public Service Initiative by a Radio Station or a Network of Radio Stations.
• It received the New York Festival Radio Awards -Community service (Dil Deke Dekho - Bronze).
